Chiropractic adjustments aren't just mechanical, they're neurological
Adjustments have a direct effect on your brain.
When we are subluxated, the information coming into the brain can be
In 2025, we have the ability to objectively measure how your nervous system is functioning.
The nervous system is ONE system separated into subgroups to better understand its complexity...
Peripheral Nervous System
The peripheral nervous system (PNS) involves every nerve that is not part of the brain and spinal cord.
The PNS has two main subcatagories:
The Somatic Nervous System
Motor function
Sensory information
The Autonomic Nervous System
Sympathetic
Parasympathetic
Enteric
Central Nervous System
The central nervous system (CNS) is made up of the brain and spinal cord.
The brain communicates with the body via the spinal cord. It is like a neural highway that sends information up and down.
Autonomic Nervous System
The autonomic nervous system controls the functions of our body that we don't consciously tell it to do. This includes our heartbeat, regulating blood pressure, digesting food
Sympathetic (Fight or Flight)
The sympathetic nervous system activates certain body processes in times of need, such as dangerous or stressful situations. This fight or flight response is responsible for keeping our species alive from environmental threats. Short term, this is an incredibly important system but can be detrimental to our health if activated for long periods of time. Now more than ever, infants, children, and adults are stuck in a sympathetic dominant flight or flight mode which can cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Parasympathetic (Rest & Digest)
The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for the body processes that allow us to heal, grow, and repair. The Vagus Nerve plays a major role in these processes.
